Arrival in Srinagar

  • Morning: Arrive in Srinagar. Check in to a houseboat or hotel by Dal Lake.
  • Afternoon: Shikara ride on Dal Lake, visit the floating market, and relax with views of the Zabarwan mountains.
  • Evening: Visit Mughal Gardens (Shalimar, Nishat) or explore the local bazaars. Overnight in Srinagar.

Srinagar to Pahalgam - Base for Amarnath Yatra

  • Morning: Drive to Pahalgam (approx. 3 hours). En route, visit the historic Awantipura Ruins and saffron fields at Pampore.
  • Afternoon: Explore Pahalgam, a picturesque valley and the starting point for the traditional Amarnath route.
  • Evening: Overnight stay in Pahalgam to prepare for the yatra.

Pahalgam to Chandanwari - Start of the Yatra Trek

  • Morning: Drive to Chandanwari (approx. 16 km from Pahalgam) – the starting point for the trek.
  • Activity: Begin the trek towards Sheshnag (approx. 13 km). This trek is scenic but moderately challenging.
  • Evening: Overnight camp at Sheshnag, with views of the Sheshnag Lake.

Sheshnag to Panchtarni - Trekking through Majestic Landscapes

  • Morning: Continue trekking from Sheshnag to Panchtarni (approx. 12 km), passing through Mahagunas Pass at 14,000 feet.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at Panchtarni and rest. This is the last camp before the Amarnath Cave.
  • Evening: Overnight stay in a tented camp at Panchtarni.

Panchtarni to Amarnath Cave and Return to Pahalgam

  • Early Morning: Start the final 6 km trek from Panchtarni to Amarnath Cave. Visit the holy ice lingam and participate in prayers.
  • Afternoon: Return to Panchtarni, then continue to Chandanwari where transport will be arranged back to Pahalgam.
  • Evening: Overnight stay in Pahalgam.

Pahalgam - Rest and Local Sightseeing

  • Morning: Relax and recover from the yatra. Visit Betaab Valley and Aru Valley for gentle sightseeing and relaxation.
  • Evening: Return to Srinagar for an overnight stay.

Srinagar to Sonamarg - Optional Sightseeing

  • Morning: Day trip to Sonamarg (approx. 2 hours from Srinagar) for sightseeing and relaxation by the Sindh River.
  • Activity: Short trek or pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier for a last view of Kashmir’s alpine beauty.
  • Evening: Return to Srinagar for a final night.

Departure from Srinagar

  • Morning: Last-minute shopping in Srinagar’s bazaars for souvenirs.
  • Afternoon: Transfer to Srinagar Airport for departure.
